You probably associate Norfolk cruises with a 4-year recruiting. But Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Lines offers cruises from Norfolk for a much shorter duration, and you do not lift a finger while you're on board!
Norfolk port area is located near the downtown core, which has picked up new in the last few years. Consider the arrival in Norfolk, one or two days earlier and shopping at MacArthur Center, Norfolk million square meters of shopping center. Or visitd'art on the way home and find one-of-a-kind artwork to take back with you.
As far as cruises, Carnival offers a 6-day cruise, the Bahamas Norfolk on a Sunday and sails to Nassau in the Bahamas leaves, arrive Tuesday morning. Spend Tuesday and Wednesday to explore Nassau, then your ship Wednesday evening and drove to Freeport. One day is spent in Freeport, then your re-board and set sail for home and arrived back in Norfolk on Saturday.
Another option is Carnivalthe 2-day "Cruise to Nowhere". Leave Norfolk on Saturday night to spend Sunday at sea, and return to Norfolk Monday morning, well rested and refreshed, ready to face your work per week. With prices below $ 400, which is a great weekend getaway.
The other cruise line operating out of Norfolk is Royal Caribbean. This cruise line offers 6, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.-night Bermuda cruise on the Empress of the Seas. There is also an 8-night New England and Canada cruise thatNorth during the summer months.
Empress of the Seas is the smaller of the two Royal Caribbean ships, the call Norfolk home. 692 meters long, can accommodate 2020 passengers and cruises at 19.5 knots. Amenities include a day spa, fitness center, world-class restaurants, a large selection of wines and other drinks, casinos and a climbing wall. The Empress is typically used on Royal Caribbean 5 - and 7-night Bermuda sailings.
For the other cruises, RoyalSailing the Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas. A longer ship at 916 meters, it can up to 2446 passengers travel at a speed of 22 knots. It has all the amenities of the Empress, but adds a beautiful atrium with on-board shopping. There is also a conference center aboard the Grandeur of those who have to work a little while to do on board.
Since the Grandeur a larger ship is sailing it to more destinations. One of their longer trips, a 9-night cruise, the Eastern CaribbeanVisit San Juan, Puerto Rico, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Samana in the Dominican Republic, Labadee in Haiti, and returns to the dock in Norfolk.
Royal Caribbean only started sailing from Norfolk, in April of 2007, this is still a market that is discovered. With a little looking, you will probably find an agreement on your cruise. And if you are within a day's drive from Norfolk, you can still save more while airfare.
Parking is $ 10 per night in theCedar Grove facility. Leave your baggage at the Nauticus Terminal, the trip to Cedar Grove and park, then take the free shuttle back to the terminal where you can relax your boat, to know, you have to worry about a thing, but you want to wine dinner.
